FENG SHUI FOR YOUR HEALTH
(reprinted from Santa Clarita Magazine)
August 2006
As a Feng Shui consultant, I get numerous calls from individuals who have
physical and emotional issues causing stress in their lives. After they have
had a proper medical evaluation, I will schedule a site inspection of their
homes to look for imbalances or other issues in their environments, often a
contributing factor in their 'dis-ease.' I have physicians who will refer
their patients to me. These medical professionals are well aware of the fact
that many health problems have their origin in homes or work spaces. The
unnatural environment we live in has created extremely stressful conditions
for our bodies, affecting our emotional behavior, our psyche, our brain
patterns and our health. It is therefore very important to protect ourselves
in our immediate environment by applying the most effective Feng Shui
techniques and remedies.
Our bodies need a harmonious flow of energy to facilitate the nourishment of
our cells and to support smooth metabolism and cell rejuvenation. And, yes!
Our homes can actually contribute to weight gain, as metabolism is slowed by
lack of energy!
When a person is suffering from a degenerative disease such as arthritis,
the problem can only be alleviated temporarily, even with medication or
acupuncture. This individual is not only suffering from a breaking down of
the body, but complicating the problem, is a general lack of smooth energy
flow within the body. Creating a healthy flow of "chi" or energy within the
home is essential in supporting healing, while following your doctor's
orders.
Children living in a home with low energy will often exhibit agitation,
aggressiveness and hyperactivity. A lack of concentration is common and
performance usually suffers. Adults can suffer stress, depression, conflict
in their relationships, and even their sexual life can be affected.
The Feng Shui of a work place is also very important to our well-being. When
a work space is affected, workers tend to be very tired by midday. They are
more stressed and make more mistakes. The business as a whole can be less
successful.
While Feng Shui is not a 'cure all' it makes good sense to take care of the
health of our homes as we, hopefully, take care of our bodies.
Yours in Good Health!
